Students Orchestrate Epic April Fool’s Prank On Teacher & He’s So Embarrassed!

The policy had been in effect all year, but no one had ever dared test it. That is until April Fool’s Day came around.

It was Dr. Stephen Barrows’s first year on the job as an associate professor of economics at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and he was determined to maintain order in his classroom. As the first order of business, he implemented a simple policy: If a student’s cell phone went off in class, he or she would be required to take the call – on speakerphone.

Sounds a little harsh, right? But it provided just the right foundation for the most epic and hilarious April Fool’s prank ever! Fortunately, the entire episode was caught on camera – no doubt a cell phone – and it’s been viewed a whopping 57 million times.

Taylor Nefcy was enrolled in Dr. Barrows’s macroeconomics class, and when her cell phone rang, he grinned and said, “Answer it.”Little did he know, he was in for the most embarrassing minute of his life.

Taylor answers the call and it doesn’t take long for the man on the other end of the line to get to the point…

Hi, this is Kevin from the Pregnancy Resource Center. Per your request, I am calling to inform you that the test results have come back positive, congratulations!

At this point, Dr. Barrows jumps in, trying to save this poor student from further embarrassment: “Okay! You might want to shut that down …â€

But Kevin – who’s actually Taylor’s friend Ian MacNeil – continues:

There is no need to worry. I know that you told us the father is no longer in the picture, but we will be in contact with you throughout this whole process, so don’t worry about anything. We provide counseling and other maternity services at no charge.

Taylor, a theater major, is totally convincing, pretending like she can’t get off the phone fast enough: “Thank you, I’ll call back later,”she stammers before disconnecting.

“Hey, I want to publicly apologize,”says the clearly mortified professor, holding his class notes over his mouth.

To her credit, Taylor could’ve very well milked this prank for all it was worth. Instead, she decided to let him off easy: “Um, that’s okay. I’ve been expecting this and I already know what I’m going to name the baby. The first name will be April and the middle name will be … Fools.â€

His reaction? Absolutely priceless! You can’t watch this video without laughing along with him and the rest of the class.

“My mind just said, ‘Did I hear what I thought I heard? I can’t believe I did this to her,'” recalled the professor (who’s since rescinded that particular cell phone policy).

Watch this mortified professor’s face turn beet-red in the video below, and remember to share to spread even more laughter!
