The Incredible Impact Of Smile Train
As the world’s largest cleft-focused organization, Smile Train has supported safe, high-quality cleft treatment to more than 1.5 million children in just 22 years.
By doing so, they have changed the lives of countless children who were born with clefts, including Ever, a teen living in Mexico. Before his surgery, his family struggled to understand what he was trying to say, but thanks to Smile Train and their local partners, he found his voice!
But it’s not just about speaking clearly. Globally, a baby is born with a cleft every three minutes, and they often have trouble eating, breathing, and hearing. As a result, many experience bullying and struggle to maintain a healthy weight, which can make it difficult for them to participate fully in school and social activities.
In other words, clefts are a serious medical condition affecting the lives of millions of people globally. The good news is, treatment is safe, effective, and lifesaving… when people have access to it.
That’s where Smile Train comes in! They help change lives NOT by sending doctors on missions, but by empowering local medical professionals to help children in their own communities through life-changing surgery and related comprehensive cleft care.
The result? Families like Ever’s are left saying, “With the help of Smile Train, we are happy.”

InspireMore wants to spread that happiness even further, so we named Smile Train our first-ever “Partner Cause of the Year” for 2022! Selected from a host of potential NGO partners, this honor includes a fully integrated and custom year-long paid partnership focused on aligning the entire InspireMore platform with Smile Train’s vision.
This partnership will help educate the public about clefts while spreading awareness of the free, life-changing cleft treatment Smile Train sponsors, leveraging InspireMore’s good news platform to share inspiring, positive stories from the field of comprehensive cleft care. Plus, InspireMore will be directly supporting Smile Train’s crucial work around the world. More announcements on what that will look like and how you can participate to come!
