An Indianapolis high schooler named Sierra Bradway just got the most beautiful, tear-jerking surprise for prom.
No, she wasn’t crowned prom queen; nor did the surprise have anything to do with how she was asked. Instead, this surprise came from a family that loves Sierra as if she were a blood connection: the officers of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Sierra’s father had been an officer in the department, but was killed in 2013 in the line of duty. He bravely died while saving a woman and her child’s lives.

To honor her father, Sierra decided she wanted to take her prom photos at his grave. Her date, Brock Spayd, understood since his mother is a captain in the Sheriff’s Office.
But when Brock’s mom heard Sierra’s plan, she hatched a plan of her own, and contacted Sierra’s dad’s fellow IMPD officers with an idea that would make Sierra’s prom extra special… She suggested that any available officers surprise Sierra at the cemetery to show her their love and support.
Dozens showed up.
