Edie was an hour away from being put to sleep because the animal shelter was short on money. Then, Bronwyne Mirkovich stepped in to save the ten pound puppy. The dog is absolutely terrified when he gets near to her, letting out agonizing shrieks that are absolutely brutal to hear.
Once she gets warmed up to the idea of human contact, Edie lays down and lets Bronwyne pet her. However, when she turns on her side, it’s absolutely heartbreaking to see how she is completely covered in knots and urine, making it even more clear that no one had ever given her any amount of care or attention. But then, she totally opens up and even wags her tail for the first time!
The next step was to get her cleaned up! Once she’s groomed, you can’t even recognize her without the incredible amount of filth that was covering her body. That face is so cute underneath (and so much happier)! Right after that, you see a COMPLETE 180 in her personality! She’s like a chipper puppy who’s full of joy now that she’s seen love and compassion – two things she probably had never experienced or exposed to.
There are thousands of dogs out there just like Eddie. Dogs that are scared, hopeless, abused, starving and alone, waiting in line to be put down due to lack of funds or going too long without being chosen for adoption.
