Shaquille O’Neal Shared Kind Words For The Family

Shaquille O’Neal has worked as the director of community relations for the Henry County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia since 2021. He contacted Henry County Sheriff Reginald B. Scandrett and told him he wanted to help the family.

“It touches every one of us parents, neighbors, and human beings,” Shaquille told Fox 5. “These were innocent lives full of promise, taken far too soon…this was not just a gesture of support, it was a moral responsibility.”

Sheriff Scandrett added that the joint donation from Shaquille O’Neal and the sheriff’s office, “fully covers the expenses associated with honoring the girls, lifting the financial burden from the grieving family.”

He added that the sheriff’s office was happy to help the grieving family.

“It’s tragic beyond belief. Particularly being a father of two girls and two boys, this is unconscionable. The loss the Ellis family has endured is one that shakes us all to our core. Our goal is to remind them they do not walk this journey alone.”

The sheriff said Shaquille O’Neal is a very generous man.

“He has a tremendous heart, and that links with my heart. It’s, quite frankly, one of the reasons why we got together,” he said.
