A Little-Known Glimpse Into Sean Connery’s Life Story: From Army, To Mr. Universe, To Bond.

Just as World War II was drawing to a close, a young boy named Thomas enlisted in the Royal Navy to fend off the axis powers threatening his native Britain. Though the war only lasted a 6 months after enlisting, the then 16-yr-old served his country three years after war’s end until a minor medical complication led him to be honorably discharged.

The driven young man didn’t know exactly what direction to take, so he decided to work on himself. Little did he know that his  hard work would soon make him a household name in Britain and beyond.

It wasn’t until 1962 that the world would come to love Thomas by his stage name, Sean Connery. The beloved actor found his first niche in the hearts of people everywhere playing 007 in the wildly popular James Bond franchise.

Connery might have been “fed up to here with the whole Bond bit,” but the popularity of the franchise and his onscreen carisma led him to star in 7 bond films. Connery went on to appear in a staggering 75 movies over the course of his career and is still written about quite often as fans reminisce on his heyday.
