Mom Creates Epic Jungle Play Space To Celebrate Son’s 2nd Birthday.

When you move into a new place, it can take a while to make everything really feel like home. Luckily for Sarah Balsdon, her house included a conservatory that she knew just what to do with!

Sarah and her husband Kyle are the parents of four young kids. As their youngest son Elijah was approaching his 2nd birthday in 2019, his creative mom took the opportunity to build a play space in the conservatory just for him.

According to Sarah, who is a nurse, their family had just moved into their home and had long-term plans to extend the back portion of the house, which includes the conservatory.

Still, they wanted Elijah to be comfortable right then and there, but they knew they needed to be conscious of how much they were spending.

So they took a DIY approach and got creative! Using foam padding, superhero wallpaper, gently-used soft toys, plastic balls, and string lights, the two of them created a play space that exceeds even Chuck E. Cheese. Best of all, they pulled it off with just $550!

When Elijah’s big day came, they couldn’t wait to reveal their surprise!

They typically kept the conservatory closed off, so when the drapes were drawn to disguise his present, the toddler thought nothing of it. But then his parents revealed the new room!

“He was so excited and his little face was a picture,” Sarah said later. “The first thing he did was dive in the ball pit and then go down the slide.”

While the room was technically made for Elijah’s birthday, Sarah hopes all their kids will play in there.

From the looks of it, even their 9-year-old thinks it’s cool! Something tells us Sarah and Kyle won’t mind getting in on the fun either.
