It probably won’t come as a surprise that the city of Salem, Massachusetts is quite a popular spot during the month of October. With Halloween right around the bend, it’s the perfect time to visit. But what you might not expect from this quaint area is the brand new siren found on the Salem Massachusetts Fire Department truck, as shared in a viral video. Seriously, whatever you are currently imagining, it’s not that.
There’s still the sound you’d expect to hear from a firetruck. The difference now is that there’s a second layer of sound, one that should be familiar to many. It’s a fairly popular song, especially if you are familiar with memes, and it doesn’t have any lyrics. Think you might know it at this point? Find out if you are correct in the video below!

If you managed to guess the instrumental Sandstorm by Darude, you would be correct! Turns out, Sandstorm goes well with lots of music, or in this case, a firetruck siren in Salem. Needless to say, news of this siren change has gone viral in Salem and beyond.

“I don’t know what I was expecting but it for sure wasn’t Sandstorm,” someone shares in the comment section, with another adding, “Could you imagine — your house is A BLAZE — and from the distance… sandstorm — and your first thought is… oh good help is on the way.”

As amazing as this hilarious (and oddly catchy) Sandstorm is for a firetruck siren, based on other videos found on this account, it does appear Salem didn’t actually make this change. Still, with how much people are loving this idea, maybe the city of Salem should consider making the change real…
“Not me dancing along as the rest of my life goes up in flames in front of my eyes,” a third person jokes, with another admitting, “If my house was on fire and that pulled up I guess I’d feel a little better.”
