One special postal worker just got the best surprise ever!
Broadway performer Robert Hartwell has a precious friendship with his mail carrier named Cynthia. After years of her providing deliveries to Robert and his neighbors, he decided it was high time she got a gift of her own.
So for Cynthia’s birthday, Robert took to social media and asked his 96,000Â followers to consider sending Cynthia some cards and love on her big day.
His online community did not disappoint. Robert received an abundance of cards from all around the country. Each one was full of kind words and sweet wishes for Cynthia!
In a video of the big reveal, you can see the shock written all over Cynthia’s face as Robert presents her with her letters and a miniature postage truck, to which she jokingly responds, “A reminder of work?!”
Finally, Robert unveils a gorgeous flower crown from PlantShed, which was made exclusively for Cynthia. He then announces, “You’re the birthday queen!”
“Cynthia, you teach me so much about life. The biggest lesson being do it your own way – but with joy, laughter, and kindness. Happy Birthday, my sweet friend,” Robert wrote. “You are officially forgiven for giving me a red sharpied reminder slip daily for the past month.”
What a wonderful reminder of the deep joy that can be found in the simplest of kindnesses! As Robert says, “The journey is short – go spread some light.”
