Rob Lowe “Was Actually Super Emotional” About Becoming An Empty Nester, Now He Loves It

Rob Lowe Empty Nester

For many parents, their children grow up in what seems like the blink of an eye. As much as we want to keep them little, babies don’t stay. Instead, we hope they grow into mature adults who can live happy and fulfilled lives on their own. That’s not to say we won’t miss them dearly when they are gone.

Robe Lowe, 60, and his wife, Sheryl Berkoff, 63, have been married since 1991. The pair share sons Matthew, 31, and John, 28. Their boys have grown up and moved out of the family’s home, which for Rob was an adjustment.

“I was sad when they left,” he shared on the Jennifer Hudson Show. “And I thought this is the end of that relationship with your kids — it’s not. It’s just the beginning of a new chapter.”

Rob Lowe And Sheryl’s Relationship Bloomed

He called becoming an empty nester “super emotional” until he had an epiphany.

“I looked at my wife and went, ‘Wait a minute, I remember you! You’re hot! And we have fun together,'” he said.

Rob added that being an empty nester brings back a bit of freedom he hasn’t had for the past three decades.

“And all of a sudden, I could wake up in the middle of the night and go get a midnight snack without any clothes on again. It was very freeing. I love being an empty nester now,” he told Jennifer.

Rob, who turned 60 in March, has maintained his youthful looks by taking care of his mind and body. Jennifer remarked that he looked 30, and he told her he was happy.

“I’ve never felt better. I feel like I’m at the peak of everything. Whether it’s relationships or physical,” Rob said. “I am having the best time of my life, for sure.”
