Rescued 200-lb Sea Turtle Finally Swims Free After Being Tangled In Trap Line.

A sea-turtle has been released back into the ocean.

One lucky turtle is being returned to the wild after being rescued from a treacherous trap line! Tina, a 200-lb sea turtle, has successfully recovered from the incident with the help of the Turtle Hospital, a Florida rehabilitation center for these four-legged creatures. Volunteers brought Tina to Higgs Beach in Key West, where they released her into the Atlantic Ocean. A crowd of onlookers cheered Tina on as she made her way back into the water.

“All species of sea turtles in the United States are listed on the Endangered Species Act,” said a representative from the Turtle Hospital. “Tina was a reproductive female, so it’s most important to get these gals back out to sea, doing what they do best, and that’s making more baby sea turtles!”

Watch the video below to see footage of Tina’s release!
