At first glance, the resemblance to Harry Potter is uncanny.
Like the fictional boy wizard, Aidan McCann of Ireland wears round, black-framed eyeglasses and has a mop of unruly hair, but the real similarities lie in the seemingly supernatural. Both Aidan and his literary counterpart use magic, and their skills only get stronger as they get older!
Now 13, Aidan started practicing his brand of magic-meets-comedy when he was only 8 years old. Since then, he won the top spot on “Britain’s Got Talent 2020,” and has performed across the United Kingdom. He’s now on the “AGT” stage, appearing in the first season of “All-Stars,” and he is somehow more magical than ever before!
Aidan starts his audition wearing a suit that just happens to match the one worn by host Terry Crews. He recruits Terry to be his assistant, blindfolding himself and passing out a homemade coloring book of a superhero he drew himself. He asks each judge to color in a part of the picture.
Once the masterpiece was complete, Aidan revealed the big surprise by ripping off his suit to reveal a superhero suit that totally matches the colors the judges just used on paper. But wait, there’s more!
Next, Aidan asks Terry to take off his suit too. You guessed it! “Terry the Titan” is wearing the same superhero suit!
It may seem as if Terry was in on the act, but both he and Aidan insist it wasn’t staged at all.
“Terry knew nothing beforehand,” Aidan told People. “In fact, after we came off stage he said, ‘How did you get this superhero suit onto me, Aidan?!?’ … Magic!! But I didn’t rehearse with him or anything so he knew nothing about the act or how I was going to include him. I just knew that he would be perfect, I am a massive fan of his! He has such great energy and showmanship!”
Terry wasn’t the only fan Aidan made that night. All of the judges had nothing but praise for the young man, but Heidi was so impressed she catapulted him to the next level of the competition by hitting the golden buzzer!
“It felt so amazing to get Heidi’s Golden Buzzer,” said Aidan after the big moment. “I have seen so many performers get the Golden Buzzer on previous ‘AGT’ shows and I have always thought that must be such a cool feeling.”
He says he had to tap his leg to make sure he wasn’t dreaming!
This kid has more charisma in his little finger than most people have in their whole body! We can’t wait to see how far his star rises as he continues on his mission to entertain and amaze.
