A Pennsylvania Goodwill received a bag of jewelry that contained a valuable surprise. This rare Lego is actually a Kanohi Hau mask from Lego’s Bionicle series, and it’s made out of 14-karat gold.
I didn’t even know gold Legos existed! Let alone real gold Legos!
And clearly, neither did the person who found this. The Lego was placed on display at the Goodwill for a mere $14.95, but quickly, the Goodwill started receiving offers of hundreds of dollars.
Upon doing further research, Chad Smith, a higher-up at Goodwill for North Central Pennsylvania, realized they’d struck gold with this rare Lego… literally!
The store put the rare Lego up for auction and it went for a whopping $18,101. How exciting is that?
Over 40 bidders went back and forth on the piece, and ultimately, it sold for thousands and thousands of dollars.
Who knew a Lego could be so valuable?
