Princess Kate and Prince William Share the Adorable Reason They Had ‘Bags Under the Eyes’ At Their Lavish Garden Party

Kate William Garden Party

Prince William and Kate Middleton may be next in line for the throne, but there’s more to their life than the monarchy. The parents of three love spending time with their kids, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. They understand that childhood is fleeting and soaking up those precious moments with their kids is truly important. According to The Telegraph, Kate and William hosted a garden party at Buckingham Palace on May 8. They told guests they’d had a bit of a late night the evening before. The family is grand supporters of Aston Villa, and there was no way they weren’t going to watch the big game.

Kate and William Told Their Graden Party Guests They Watched The Entire Game

Per The Telegraph, Kate Middleton said she and Prince William decided it was OK to let the kids watch Aston Villa clinch a win that put them in the Europa League final.

“They wanted to go to the match, but we let them stay up and watch it,” Kate said.

Prince William attended the game in person. He’s a very vocal, excited soccer fan, and apparently his children are following in their dad’s footsteps.

“They all make so much noise, even Louis,” Kate shared.

In January 2025, Prince William showed up at a pub to surprise a group of Aston Villa fans.

“We were contacted by the club saying Prince William wanted to meet a delegation of Villa fans as he was in Birmingham as he wanted to keep in the loop with everything going on at Villa,” Steve Jones told the Daily Mail of William’s surprise visit.

He added that Prince William drinking a beer with them at the pub was a special moment, “He was fantastic. I was quite amazed about how engaged he was with the club, his interest. He’s not a fair weather fan. He really loves the club with a passion.”

We love that Prince William and Princess Kate are encouraging their kids to be sports fans, even if it means being a bit bleary-eyed at their Garden Party.
