In the footage, the puppy and the baby deer were standing about a foot apart, staring at each other. Although the fawn seemed hesitant, the dog’s tail was wagging. This little pooch was more than ready to frolic in the grass with their new bestie! Attempting to initiate playtime, the pup began to hop around energetically.

It seemed like the baby deer wasn’t quite ready to engage with the puppy, but they didn’t run away, either. This little fawn stood quietly and watched the dog’s antics with interest! Eventually, though, the friendly pup lost interest and walked away. Perhaps they’ll meet again!

Commenters loved seeing the adorable footage of the curious baby deer reacting to an enthusiastic puppy. Several people said it reminded them of a movie moment in real life!

“Ok, what’s the name of THIS Disney movie?” wrote one user. “Bambi and Baby Air Bud? Just precious. Too cute.”

Another said, “Bambi and Puppers go on a big adventure!”

A third added, “Pretty sure this is a Homeward Bound moment.”

Obviously, we don’t know if these two baby animals will ever see each other again. However, we do know that there are plenty of other examples of deer and dogs that have become fast friends! One owner caught the sweetest video of her grown-up pooch running around with an adult deer as though they’d known each other all their lives.

It’s always amazing to see how two very different animals can find a way to connect with each other. Love really does transcend all boundaries!
