“POV: Your Husband & His Friends Learned A Dance From Your Culture To Perform For You At Your Wedding”

A man and a group of his friends pose on one knee, hands moving as they perform a Polynesian dance

The very best weddings are the ones that include personal touches. And these personal touches are all the more special when they’re from the heart. For some people, that might include learning a new language. For Aryana Apelu Brown, this included a special moment that she was entirely unaware of until it was happening at the reception: a traditional Polynesian dance.

While Aryana is Polynesian, her now husband, Joe Brown, is not. So, while planning for their big day, Joe became inspired to honor his wife’s culture. Best of all, he didn’t want to celebrate it alone. So, he garnered a whole group of his friends to learn the dance with him… and they did such a beautiful job! Watch their heartwarming performance in the video below.

@aryana_brown Easily one of my favorite parts of our day 🥹🇼🇸 Joe may not be Polynesian but he’s embracing the culture and that’s one of the things I love about him. He does eat like a Samoan though 🤣 #samoa #polynesiandance #samoanculture #polynesian #palangi #pacificislander #wedding #culturaldance #weddingideas #polynesiantiktok ♬ original sound – Aryana Apelu Brown

There is no telling how much time and effort it took for Joe and his friends to learn this Polynesian dance. In the end, though, it’s clear they gave it their all. It’s moments like these that remind us of what matters most when it comes to weddings: The couple findings ways to show each other, and the world, just how deep their loves runs for one another.

“And I know they had fun linking up and learning the dance,” someone points out in the comments, prompting Aryanna to reveal: “They would practice late at night after football workouts and work.”
