Parenting isn’t easy. In fact, it’s one of the most challenging things you can do physically, mentally, and emotionally! Every once in a while, parenting is just about taking the easy route. When this son shed some tears at preschool, his dad couldn’t help but help him make a quick escape.

This hilarious video perfectly encapsulates fatherhood. Sometimes, you’re protecting your child by making them resilient. And other times… you protect them by getting them the heck out!

This mother was lingering around the school, knowing that her husband was having a hard time saying goodbye. She was on daughter duty as her hubs was dropping off their son, but then her partner didn’t come out.

Growing suspicious, she started investigating and, sure enough, this father/son duo was making a breakaway from preschool!

She quickly pulled out her phone and caught the whole escape on video — much to the father’s surprise. At the end of the clip, you can even see Dad looking around to make sure Mom didn’t catch them!

Leaving your little ones isn’t easy. While I don’t have kids myself, I do have a pair of cats and I sob every time I have to leave ’em! (Ok, not really SOB. But I don’t love it.)

A Relatable Escape

On social media, things can get a little blown out of proportion. Some viewers have taken to the comments to share their harsh opinions about urging your children to do hard things.

Yes — resiliency is important. But so is balance, and this sort of play is a wonderful memory maker.

“Y’all the haters need to take a breath and just skip because this is actually so funny and sweet,” commented one fan of this father/son preschool adventure.

Do you have any memories like this one as either the parent or the kiddo?
