A police officer who was assigned patrol duties at an annual and highly anticipated cultural festival in Germany earlier this month just couldn’t resist joining in the fun! The officer was caught salsa dancing with a total stranger in a video that is now being shared around the world.

Berlin’s first Cultural Festival and Carnival was held in 1996 and has been an annual tradition ever since, drawing nearly 1,000 artists and hundreds of thousands more revelers during its four-day run.
As in previous years, the main event was the elaborate, four-hours-long parade on June 4. But another highlight this year was captured in the short video below, which features the unidentified officer cutting loose with one of the revelers. The clip has been viewed nearly 2.5 million times since it was posted on June 2.
Passersby stopped to watch the performance, wherein the dancers expertly twisted, twirled and turned to the crowd’s cheers. The young man, also unidentified, is unabashedly delighted with his dance partner, with a wide grin splashed across his face during the entire video.
“That is, of course, a dance out of the textbook,”police spokesman Winfried Wenzel said. “We police officers are also simply people.â€
