Wildlife photographers do not get nearly enough praise for the incredible work they do. In order to get the perfect shots, they have to be quiet, careful, and oh-so-patient. For example, one photographer managed to capture the very moment that a grizzly bear was startled by a storm! That said, photographers aren’t always taking photos of animals in action. Sometimes, they simply want to get shots of birds sleeping.

At least that’s true for Dallas Gadberry. Located in Central Florida, you’ll often find him in nature taking photos of birds. Luckily, there are all sorts of fascinating feathered friends in this part of the country. Best of all, many of them can be found at the beach. Sure, you’ll find lots of them flying around, in search of food. But did you know that birds also love to nap here? Based on the sweet video below, that certainly seems to be the case!

“The baby skimmer’s beak is just too heavy for its little baby head,” someone points out in reply to Dallas’ video. Other commenters add, “Oh to be a birb snoozing on the beach” and “That’s what I like to do on the beach, too! Nap!”
Sleeping Birds on a Beach in Florida Could Not Look Any Cuter in This Professional Footage
That last person makes a very good point. It seems that birds and humans are a lot alike in that sense. A big difference, however, is that birds do have to be on the lookout for danger. Luckily, birds tend to have a number of ways to keep themselves safe, even while sleeping. For example, some are able to sleep with one eye open. Others keep themselves more hidden in areas with grass and rocks. No matter the exact sleeping method, one thing remains the same: They’re all so darn adorable!
