Almost everyone knows who Harry Styles is. For those who don’t, a quick introduction. Harry was a member of the boy band 1Direction (1D). When the band split, he launched a very successful solo career. The talented singer is adored by his fans. That leads us to a particular “adoring” fan, Joe Lycett. Joe is an artist and comedian (everything is a joke to him, including this). Joe made a unique Harry Styles painting, but Harry “stiffed” him on part of the payment.

No one knows the true story behind the Harry Styles painting (except Joe and Harry). The most common rendition is Joe posted the painting of Harry Styles on Instagram. The choppy image is a typical Joe Lycett-type painting. He replaced Harry’s head with an egg that bears little resemblance to the handsome singer.
When Harry saw the portrait on Instagram, he contacted Joe to arrange to purchase it. The two agreed upon the “excessive” rate of six pounds and a KitKat Chunky Peanut Butter. Joe sent Harry the artwork, but Harry left the invoice unpaid for months! When he finally sent payment, he only included the agreed-upon six pounds. The KitKat Chunky Peanut Butter was not in the envelope!
Joe was a bit miffed. He recorded the above video to inform the world what a cheapskate Harry Styles is for not paying the total invoice for the painting. After the video was posted, Harry sent Joe a payment of six pounds. The KitKat Chunky Peanut Butter was missing from the envelope, though. That prompted Joe to “file” a (very fictitious) lawsuit against Harry. Days later, Joe posted an update to the saga of the Harry Styles painting.
The story is far from over.
The Future of the Harry Styles Painting
Joe is still holding out for the remaining invoice balance of a KitKat Chunky Peanut Butter. Meanwhile, he has brokered a deal with Greenpeace to use the Harry Styles painting. The portrait is available on a T-shirt. The proceeds will go to the Greenpeace legal fund to defend the conservation group against Shell Oil, which is suing the organization for millions.
You can purchase the Harry Styles painting on a T-shirt here. Joe may joke about everything, but he is serious about his commitment to Greenpeace. We don’t know if Harry is on board, but how could he not be? Please check out Joe Lycett’s website. You can also follow him on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter.
