Hayley Williams, of the band Paramore, and Taylor Swift have been friends for multiple decades. But it turns out, the duo’s friendship began in an interesting (and adorable) way!
Taylor’s mom, Andrea, matched them together!
Taylor and Andrea were both young in the music industry, and Taylor was experiencing some loneliness. There weren’t very many young gals taking over the world with their music, and the success was a bit isolating.
“Me and Taylor met because both of us — Paramore and Taylor — were nominated for best new artist the same year at the Grammys,” shared Hayley on the set of Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, where she detailed the whole story of the two becoming pals.
Hayley went on to detail the way that Andrea, Taylor’s mom, helped make the connection.
“A woman came up to me and she said, ‘I’m Taylor Swift’s mom and Taylor doesn’t have a lot of friends her age who do music and I’d love to introduce you guys,'” Hayley continued.
The two swapped numbers and the rest is history!
Their friendship origin is so astonishingly… normal! Moms want the best for their kiddos, even if their kiddos are pop legends.
