For her birthday, little Aubrey didn’t ask for a toy or a bike – all Aubrey wanted was for her dad to be there with her. Unfortunately, her wish was very unlikely to come true… or so she thought!
Her “Daddy Eric,” as she calls him, was deployed in the Middle East. For this reason, all that her dad could do for her on her birthday (in Aubrey’s mind) was send her a gift with a note. Although Aubrey appreciated the present, she still seemed upset that she didn’t get what she really wanted: to see her dad.
That’s when Aubrey’s mom tells her to make a wish with her eyes closed.
“Papa Jesus, I want my daddy,” said Aubrey with her eyes closed. “And I want him coming here. And I love him. He is the best daddy ever.”
During her prayer, her dad silently walked toward her. As soon as she turned around, there he was, standing in front of her, ready to celebrate her big day! As one would expect, little Aubrey had the most wholesome reaction ever.
It was as if Aubrey’s prayer was answered! We are sure she will never forget this birthday.
