On July 20, 2025, Malcolm-Jamal Warner passed away while on vacation with family in Costa Rica. The Cosby Show star accidentally drowned while swimming with his daughter. One year later, the late star’s mother, Pamela Warner, reflected on a year without her son in a touching Instagram post.

“As I look back, I have no regrets. Perhaps a little more time. Perhaps one more chance to cook his favorite meals, have one last good conversation, one last good deep belly laugh, the kind that produces those tears of pure joy, one last kiss, one last hug,” the mother wrote.
Pamela Warner Had ‘Nothing Left on the Table’ Following Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s Death
Though she misses her son terribly, Pamela Warner takes solace in the fact that she and Malcolm-Jamal Warner have no unfinished business between them, and that they each know just how much they love one another. Pamela Warner also expressed her gratitude to supporters who stuck by her during a difficult season of her life.
“Please take care of yourselves and those who you love. Let them know that they are loved. Clear up any beef you may have with your loved ones, if possible. Cleanse your spirit of negativity. We all have an expiration date. Don’t leave or let your loved one leave without them knowing that they are loved and treasured. That knowledge and ‘clean plate’ has helped me to survive,” she ended her post.
