Officer Sam Buhr of the Sioux Falls Police Department in South Dakota was out on patrol when he pulled over a DoorDash driver for a traffic stop. When he realized the driver had a warrant out, Sam arrested him on the spot. Glancing into the stranger’s car, he spotted a bag of food and a soft drink from Arby’s that were en route to a local woman. What’s a good cop to do?
The answer, according to a Ring video that’s going viral online, is to drive over to the woman’s house and deliver her meal yourself! The video shows Sam cheerfully ringing the doorbell and telling the woman, “I know I’m not who you’re expecting, but your driver got arrested. I figured I’d complete the DoorDash for you.”
Once everyone stopped laughing, the Sioux Falls Police stated, “While delivering food is not a normal part of police work, helping people is.”
