Off-Duty Firefighter Drives Hours To Return Lost Purse To Rightful Owner.

An off-duty firefighter made one woman’s year when he drove hours through the night to return her lost purse.

Georgia, who works for a popular fashion store in the UK named Bows Boutique, left her purse at a gas station after her company Christmas party in early December. When she realized it was missing, she was terrified and heartbroken. But her tears quickly dried when a man named Nyma showed up at her door—carrying her purse.

A ring camera caught Georgia and Nyma’s exchange, and the owner of Bows Boutique posted the footage on the store’s Instagram page. In it, Nyma rings her doorbell and Georgia answers it using a phone app. The kind firefighter explained where he found the lost purse and said he decided to drive straight to her house so she wouldn’t have to experience an extra moment of panic.

Georgia was moved to tears and kept offering to send Nyma money for his good deed, but he refused. He simply asked her to “pay it forward,” and explained that it was no trouble for him. Because she wasn’t home at the time, he left the purse in an empty garbage bag and left.

“One of the girls lost her handbag, and this guy came to Hertfordshire from North London to bring it back because he found it!!” reads the caption. “It’s safe to say he was the hero and we are all at Bows so grateful for making our girl so happy ❤️ how amazing is this to do and a huge THANK YOU”

Because the owner and Georgia were so touched by the gesture, they embarked on a search for the mystery man so they could give him a proper “thank you.” It didn’t take long to find him. When they did, they invited him to the store for an official meet and greet shortly after—and he went.
