Esmeralda the Emu is a passionate gal. When she got in an altercation, she decided it was time to hit the road. The emu escaped her Alabama home and became a emu on the loose!
This isn’t the first time Miss Esmeralda has made a great escape. She’s prone to bursts of frustration and needed to walk off her distress.
The city of Calera, Alabama kept the community aware of the emu’s whereabouts, and ultimately, she returned home. This emu escape has been resolved!
“We are happy to report that Esmeralda has returned home to hopefully reconcile her differences with her sister,” captioned The City of Calera in a Facebook post. “After reflecting on her actions, while she was on the run, she decided that she should remain with her sister in the flock together.”
So true.
This emu on the loose may have made a great escape, but she’s now back in the comfort of her family.
Her mom, Sue Sanford, is taking the family to a new property in the near future, but will be ensuring Esmeralda stays put until the move.
We’re so glad this sassy girl has made it home safely! Emu Escape 2024: Resolved!
