It was the last thing that college basketball star Norbertus Giga expected. The Jacksonville State center had been told his coaches wanted him to look at some game film.
Instead, he walked right into a well-planned surprise. Still, we’re almost sure that Norbertus didn’t mind being tricked into an unforgettable family reunion!

The game film was used as the bait but it was clear that he wasn’t quite sure why he was called in alone. The player looked around at the staff and cameras in confusion.

Norbertus is originally from Kaunas, Lithuania. He traveled to the United States to make a life for himself. As a consequence, he had not seen his mother, Edita Gigiene, in more than five years.
That’s a long time to go without seeing your mom. And Norbertus obviously missed his own mother terribly.
As the sweet moment has gone viral, it’s helping to motivate Norbertus and his team to play their best. As for Edita, she’s hoping to be a “good luck charm” for Norbertus and his team.
