1920s Inspired Swing Dancers Dazzle With “Nitty Gritty” Performance.

If anybody can convince you to sign up for swing dancing classes, it’s these two.

For the last six years, Chandrae “Chanzie”Roettig and Stephen Sayer, a dancing duo from California, have been teaching the Jitterbug, Lindy Hop, and other dance styles that harken back to the 1920s. And after winning numerous awards in those divisions, they’ve definitely shown that they lead by example.

Their moves are so incredible, they were even included in a dancing scene in the 2013 action movie, “Gangster Squad,”which featured an all-star cast including Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte and Sean Penn.

The movie’s set in the 1940s, when Big Band was popular and swing dancing was all the rage, so of course Chanzie and Stephen were recruited for the roles for authenticity’s sake.

Three years later, at the annual Rock That Swing festival in Munich, Germany, they again wowed their audience with a top-notch performance at “Rock That Swing,”an annual festival held in Munich, Germany. It’s set to Shirley Elllis’s 1963 hit, “The Nitty Gritty,”and their perfectly matched twists and twirls will make you feeling dizzy.

“The best part is how much fun you can tell they’re having!”noted a viewer, and it’s so true. I mean, just look at their faces!
