Neighbors Leap To The Rescue After Plane Crashes In Neighborhood

View from a distance of the aftermath of a plane crash. A whole group of people gather around to help rescue the people inside the plane. One person stands off to the side with a hose directed at the plane.

Thanks to the help of a brave group of neighbors, every single passenger in this crash has a chance to survive. Before those onboard were in need of rescue, they were on a flight from the Dominican Republic. While their destination remains unknown, we do know they passed through Florida — this is where the plane would go on to crash.

The cause of this crash has yet to be explained. All we know for sure is that radio traffic lost connection with the pilot of the small plane when it was around eight miles away from the airport. Nearby security footage managed to capture the very moment this plane came crashing to the ground. Below is an image of the moment. You can also watch the video here.

After the crash, a whole group of neighbors came pouring out to help. In fact, one of them was an off-duty first responder. Together, they worked hard to free the terrified and injured people still inside. One person even used an axe to break the windows. Footage from their rescue mission can be seen in the video below.

This Florida Plane Crash May Have Ended in Tragedy Had it Not Been for These Brave Neighbors

@nbcsouthflorida New video shows the moments neighbors tried to help survivors after a small plane crashed in Pembroke Pines on Sunday night. Police and emergency crews responded to the crash involving a Cessna Skymaster at around 8:10 p.m. Officials confirmed that four people were on board the aircraft, including a pilot and three passengers. Two minors were among the passengers. #plane #crash #minor #florida #neighbors ♬ original sound – NBCSouthFlorida

“So, we took the father out first, the two daughters peeked their heads out of the seat, and we had to break the bottom half of the cockpit because the mom was on the bottom, trapped in,” neighbor Eddy Crispin says. “The neighbor from across the street had a fire extinguisher trying to put the fire out. My neighbor where the plane actually crashed, he had a water hose and was hosing the plane down.”

Not much has been said about the survivors of this crash. But we do know that the flight included two adults: a 45 and 50-year-old. There were also two teens. One is 14 (and sustained minor injuries) while the other is 16 (and had potentially life-threatening issues). We wish every single one of them a speedy and full recovery.
