Neighborhood Kids’ Backyard Football Game Takes a Wholesome Turn

Dominique’ Jole’

Having a child who is different can be hard for parents. We want other kids to be kind to our children and for them to have a fun, happy childhood. That isn’t always easy. As we know, kids can sometimes be pretty cruel, particularly about things they don’t understand. Illinois mom Dominique’ Jole’ worried kids wouldn’t accept her autistic son, who longed to play football with them. Then one day, things changed. Dominique shared a video on Instagram of her son playing right along with a group of kids and having the time of his life. It received millions of views on TikTok and renewed many people’s faith in humanity.

Dominique’ Jole’ Feared the Other Kids Wouldn’t Accept Her Son

But she was wrong. The kids not only let Dominique’ Jole’s son play, but they also gave him the ball and let him lead the team. The one-minute clip is the kind of video that can change a person’s day. These children did not have an adult telling them what to do or how to act. They have kindness in their hearts that shone through that day.

Seeing her son playing made Dominique’ Jole’ feel so good. Her friends, followers, and family shared her joy.

“My son and daughter are playing with him!!! Wait til summer. He will have so much fun,” someone wrote.

“Oh my god, this is my son & his friends!!!” Another person added.

Just seeing the kids all having fun together made so many people’s day.

“Omg the long run, the kids falling at his sides, the kids guarding, the CLAPPING at the end,” a friend shared. “I just know he ran back to you & you had to tell him they were Happy Tears. All I do is open this app & cry. I’m so happy to be here before this goes viral. GO JAKEY GO.”

Some thanked the parents of the kids playing with Dominique’ Jole’s for their kindness.

“THE PARENTS OF THE KIDS COMMENTING,” someone wrote. “Y’all raised amazing and kind kids!!!! WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU!
