Yesterday, students at Mundelein High School in Illinois returned to class after winter break to find that the halls of the English department got a major makeover!
Mundelein High School posted about the glow-up, writing, “A routine hallway has been transformed into a giant motivational tableau to encourage reading.”
English teachers at the school picked some of their most treasured books and had the covers printed on giant adhesive vinyl sheets. Their hope is that the murals will spark conversations about the books in the hallways and that students will feel immersed in the power of reading.
What a creative way to get students excited in 2019! Kudos to you, Mundelein!
