Man Touring Country Starts “Mowing With Cops” To Help Police Connect With Communities.

Just one kind act can make a huge difference in others’ lives. Few know that better than Rodney Smith Jr., whose sweet gesture sparked an incredible wave of good deeds – and continues to do so across the nation.

In 2015, Rodney, an Alabama college student, noticed an old man struggling to mow his lawn. He offered to take over, and afterwards, wanted to do more for his community. That’s how his charity, “Raising Men Lawn Care Service” came to be.

Since then, Rodney has offered a free lawn mowing service for the elderly, people with disabilities, single parents, and veterans in his area. He’s even inspired hundreds of young men to join in as well. And he’s always thinking up ways to spread the charity even farther. In fact, last year, Rodney challenged himself to mow at least one lawn in all 50 states. Unsurprisingly, he succeeded, thanks in part to donations he received to help pay for his hotel rooms and other expenses.

Now he’s doing it again with a different focus this time: helping police officers connect with their communities. Starting this month, Rodney is embarking on another tour of the U.S. called “Mowing with Cops,” bringing with him a police-themed mower complete with emergency lights.

“The goal is to bring the communities together around those who serve and protect us,” he wrote on Twitter. And what better way to do so than by showing citizens that their friends in blue are there to help!
