Lonely Mom Eats Alone On Mother’s Day, Until Restaurant Staff Notices & Showers Her With Love.

For some, Mother’s Day is a very lonely holiday.

Whether you’re missing a mother who has passed away, or you’re not able to see your own children to celebrate your special day, it’s not always roses and smiles for everyone. For Barbara Foy of Horry County, South Carolina, the day started off horribly… but thanks to the kindness of strangers, it ended with her feeling showered with love.

Barbara’s son has not called her in a while, so when he didn’t take a moment to call her on Mother’s Day, she found herself feeling dejected and unloved. She decided to take herself out to lunch at a local Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant, and that’s when things started to turn around for her.

As Barbara ate her lunch alone, her server started chatting with her and learned that she had no one to celebrate Mother’s Day with. Moved and saddened, servers Christianna Smith, Mariah Brown, and Kabria Hasty decided to do something about it.

As Barbara finished eating, the staff members all pitched in to make her a gift basket of nice things. They then not only presented Barbara with the basket, but also told her lunch was on them. Another customer heard what was happening and gave Barbara a rose, too!

“I think we were all almost in tears by the end of the story,”said Lauren Nave, the restaurant’s manager. “We wanted to make sure that she knew how special she was on Mother’s Day.â€

Barbara was extremely touched by the gesture, telling everyone “I really felt like I was queen for a day…mother for a day! I’ve never been made to feel so special.â€

Every mother deserves to feel special on Mother’s Day. Thank you so much to the staff at Ruby Tuesday’s for stepping up and giving this mom the love and respect she deserves. The world needs more people like you.

Happy Mother’s Day, Barbara! Please share this story to encourage everyone to give their mother a call, and not just on Mother’s Day.
