The groom and mother’s first dance is always a sweet moment on wedding days, but in this video that’s especially true. The groom’s mother was suffering from ALS and she sadly passed away soon after this touching moment with her son.
As the groom wheeled his mother out on the dance floor everyone was smiling, but the moment he knelt down the tears started flowing. I can only imagine how much this dance meant as he knelt on the floor and spun his mother around.
At the beginning, he’s holding his mother’s hand, bending down to kiss her on the forehead. But then he crouches down, puts an arm around her, and slowly takes her around the dance floor.
They are talking to each other, smiling and sharing a special moment, but when Mom begins to cry, the groom responds by spinning her faster, making her smile again and melting everyone’s hearts. Of course, the bride is sobbing just behind them.
What a special way for this young man to honor his mother and create a special memory with her at his wedding at the end of her life. Moments like this are beautiful reminders of the gift that our families are to us.
