Teen Choir Breaks Into Gorgeous Impromptu Serenade Mid-Flight.

HS choir sings Hallelujah on airplane

Back in 2018, a group of 31 students from the Monmouth-Roseville High School choir were en route to New York City from Illinois for a school trip. The Monmouth-Roseville Music Department was excited to perform at the 9/11 Memorial as well as the famous Carnegie Hall, so they decided to treat their fellow airline passengers to a little preview.

Chaperone and school board member Nicole Trego recorded the precious moment on her phone. As she captures the plane full of people, the choir sings “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. The entire plane falls silent as they listen to the group effortlessly harmonize the well-known ballad.

When a student uploaded Nicole’s video to YouTube, they punctuated their once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Big Apple by going viral! See them in action in the video below, and be sure to share this story.
