When you are passionate about something, you should be able to share that passion with those who love you. When Ana Stanawick’s mom, Jodi, began dating after her divorce, she hit the jackpot with her new boyfriend, Brad Davis. He embraced Jodi’s extensive collection of mugs and built her a dedicated mug wall to display them all!
Jodi collects mugs, most specifically, frog mugs. Mugs and frogs seem to very hoppy in their new home. Although Jodi’s collection isn’t limited to frog mugs, the wall accommodates other items (Hello Santa mug!). Brad is on a ladder placing a stuffed “Frog” into a cubby in the image below. The frog is none other than Frog from the Frog and Toad series of children’s books.
It might not seem like much to some of us, but to Jodi, this simple, small act was greatly appreciated. Daughter Ana explained that Jodi’s spouse would be angry when she bought a new mug in her previous marriage. Brad has a different outlook on things concerning the mug collection. In an interview with TODAY Style, he said, “I wanted to do this for Jodi so that she could enjoy all of the mugs every day instead of just drinking out of one each day.”
When discussing this special shelf during the interview with TODAY, Ana said, “Seeing her mug wall made me so happy for her to have finally found someone who embraces her quirks instead of trying to hide them.” That statement is what relationships are all about!
Ana’s summation nailed every relationship on the planet. Even if you don’t share in a hobby, you can share in the joy it brings the collector. That is precisely what Brad showed Jodi when he built this mug wall. May we all be lucky enough to find someone special who will share our joy in the little things!
