With their rousing rendition of “How Far I’ll Go”from “Moana,” the Voices of Hope Children’s Choir couldn’t have picked a more appropriate song for their latest round on “America’s Got Talent”!
Whether they’ll win Season 13 of the wildly popular talent competition remains to be seen, but one thing’s for certain: They’re moving on to the next round. The group, made up of 70 children between the ages of 5 and 17, has come a long way since it was founded just three years ago by “Miss Sarah”Grandpre.

She’s said the group is her “calling,”and serves as such a strong leader that the judges advanced them to the next round after their impressive audition piece, “This Is Me”from “The Greatest Showman.†The judges were impressed, but Simon suggested they use the time between the audition and judge’s cut round rehearsing some more and tightening things up a bit.
And boy, did they!

In Tuesday’s performance, four soloists kick things off, then the choir joins, their voices rising as one and quickly gathering strength. The soloists step out onto the stage, and behind them, the chorus punctuates the performance with subtle but incredibly synchronized choreography. Talk about teamwork!

Even as the last notes are fading, all five judges are scooting back their chairs and rising to their feet, with Mel B even wiping a tear from her eye.

“This actually made me really emotional,” she says, adding it was obvious every single person on the stage “really, really wants it.”
But Simon gives perhaps the best compliment, saying out of all the acts that have come before them, Voices of Hope is “the most improved.” He went on to say, “What you project and what I felt was an unbelievable energy.â€
