Heavy metal music sometimes gets a bad rap. Some people assume that music has angry or violent meanings and that the band members themselves are evil. The fact of the matter is, none of that is true at all. Some of the bands are made up of genuine do-gooders who want to make the world a better place. While on a world tour, iconic rockers Metallica decided to help out a local food bank during a stop. The moment meant so much to the community; they thanked the band with a lovely social media post.

Metallica Gave a Hefty Donation to the Foodbank
Cardiff Foodbank thanked Metallica publicly for their big donation.
“We’re thrilled to share that Metallica, who played in Cardiff last night, are donating £20,000 to Cardiff Foodbank,” an Instagram post reads. A huge diolch / thank you to Metallica and their foundation, All Within My Hands. This timely donation will help replenish our warehouse and could support around 1,000 people – the equivalent of 9,000 meals.
This isn’t the first time Metallica has helped a friend in need. The band created All Within My Hands, a nonprofit organization that helps keep food on the tables of those in need.
According to the organization’s website, they have an annual concert that brings in big names from Hollywood and the music business dedicated to serving others.
“Whether taking the stage at the intimate Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco, streaming live from HQ straight into living rooms around the globe, or packing theaters in Los Angeles, a unique, part-acoustic Metallica concert makes for one hell of a fundraiser!” The website explains.
“Funds raised through ticket sales, auction items and experiences, merch, sponsorship, and donations have resulted in millions of dollars toward our efforts to support workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services,” AWMH adds.
