Meet Coco And Chanel, The Adorably Inseparable Mother-Daughter Cat Duo.

Not long ago, Coco the cat and her litter of kittens were on the verge of starvation… but now they’re absolutely thriving!

The six of them were found scouring for food behind a warehouse. The person who found them immediately contacted Cailey Seymour, founder of the Dorset Rescue Kittens in Ontario, who was more than happy to take care of them.

In order to gather all of the cats, the person who found them put out piles of food. Before they new it, kittens were coming out from every direction to scarf down as much of the food as they could.

“It was apparent that they had been eating leaves and grass since there wasn’t food readily available to them,” Cailey said.

Many of them had to undergo treatment for upper respiratory infections but, with time, each of them began to heal and gain some much-needed weight.

At first, they were worried that the 5-year-old mom would be feral, especially since it seemed that she’s always lived on the streets, but that fear was quickly squashed by Coco’s gentle, loving nature.

“Mama Coco has finally started to understand the concept of a home,” Cailey said. “At first, she would only lay on the ground, never on a bed or a couch. She loves attention but didn’t know how to seek it out.”

Her kittens were a bit timid at first, but thanks to their comforting mom, they warmed up to the people of Dorset Rescue Kittens in no time.

“We noticed that one of the babies, Chanel, was smaller and quieter than the rest,” she said. “We find that there is always one baby who needs their mama a little bit longer.”

While her siblings were ready to wean, tiny Chanel kept nursing for the added comfort it brought her – not that Coco minded. In the weeks since they’ve been rescued, these two have developed an unbreakable bond.

“She’s been a wonderfully attentive mom and dotes on Chanel,” she said. “Chanel is often her mom’s mini shadow, but as she has grown, she has really opened up and has quite the personality.”

While Coco tends to be laidback and content with taking naps on various comfy spots, Chanel is starting to be more adventurous. In their foster home, she loves exploring unfamiliar areas. She also loves playing with toys and bugging her sleeping mom!

Still, these two couldn’t love each other more, and that’s exactly why they can only be adopted as a pair!

Coco and her babies have come a long way since they were found behind a warehouse. They’re all still looking for their fur-ever homes, but with those precious faces and sparkling personalities, they’ll have a place to call their own in no time!

“You can always find these two lovelies curled up next to each other,” Cailey said, “Or Chanel running about and mama Coco following right behind.”
