One grandpa is stealing hearts online with his adorable reaction to a birthday celebration in a restaurant. In the sweetest video, the elderly man starts clapping along with the rest of the patrons as they begin to sing. However, he’s moved to tears when he realizes that it’s actually his own birthday everyone is celebrating! He looks genuinely overcome with emotion as someone gives him a large piece of cake with a candle in it.
According to the YouTube video shared by Humankind, it’s this grandpa’s 89th birthday. As people in the restaurant chime in to celebrate with him, a loved one reaches across the table to hold his hand. With eyes full of tears, Grandpa turns to thank all the servers and customers singing to him.
“This grandpa was ready to clap and sing for someone else, only to realize it’s his 89th birthday everyone is celebrating!” reads the caption.
