Dad Steps In For Perfect Dance When Daughter’s Prom Is Canceled.

When life gets tough, some dads know exactly what to do to make things better.

Like most high school seniors, Marli Odgers of Columbiana, Alabama, has been struggling with the fact that so many fun activities have been canceled due to the novel coronavirus. So on the morning of what would have been her prom, she woke up to an unexpected surprise!

Her father had gotten up early so he could make his daughter’s day! Sensing she felt blue about missing this rite of passage, he put on some nice clothes and left Marli a note on top of the dress she’d already bought for the occasion.

“Today is prom,” it read. “One dance with Dad? Will you go with me?”

Of course, Marli said yes! Once she was dressed, she headed over to the “dance floor,” where she found her sweet dad waiting for her.

The two of them swayed along to Rascal Flatts’ “Bless The Broken Road,” and Marli quickly became a little emotional. We don’t blame her one bit!

Her older sister Natalie shared the heartwarming interaction on Facebook, writing, “Marli Odgers was supposed to have her senior prom today. She just thought it was canceled. My sweet dad made her get up and go to prom this morning. Memories we will cherish forever – even in the middle of the chaos and craziness.”

Just because life throws us curveballs doesn’t mean we can’t make the best of things. Way to go, Dad!
