Mark Dumas is the only man in the world who can swim with an adult polar bear. The Abbotsford, British Columbia native takes regular dips with his best friend, an 840 pound polar bear named Agee. Agee has just about the sweetest personality you could imagine, for a gigantic bear!

He’s been swimming with the Agee for over 16 years, but even still, he must be extremely careful when he’s in the water. Even though polar bears are known to be some of the most dangerous animals in the world, the two often enjoy a good swim together!
But it’s not just swimming they do together. “Mark wrestles on the grass with Agee, kisses her, puts his head in the polar bear’s huge jaws, and even bear hugs her as she rears up on her hind legs to over seven feet.” It’s an incredible relationship that must be handled with extreme care.
Dumas told DailyMail, “I have worked with bears in this way for over 40 years so I can read Agee’s body language and know how to behave safely around her.”
Though she’s monstrous, Agee is has a sweet soul, and she makes Mark so happy, too. It’s a beautiful friendship!
