Mariah Carey Crashes Jimmy Fallon’s Holiday Singalong With Christmas Classic.

Jimmy Fallon’s “Classroom Instruments”segment in which he and the Roots play music on kids’ toys has long been a fan favorite.

Well, Christmas is just around the corner, so now is the perfect time to take it back to one of the earliest– and greatest– “Classroom Instruments”videos, featuring Mariah Carey’s 1994 hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.â€

In this segment, Jimmy sings a couple lines solo with his ragtag crew back there doing their thing, then Mariah, festively festooned in a shimmering red gown, steps on stage and slides on in next to Jimmy.

The song’s about as cute as you’d expect with the band playing Fisher Price instruments, but the cuteness factor goes up a few notches when these kids make their first pop-up appearance:

In 2014, Billboard actually named this one of the top five “Classroom Instruments” segments ever:

She wouldn’t be Mariah Carey if she didn’t add in what appear to be a few unrehearsed vocal riffs, but the Roots keep up with her flawlessly. In addition to being a great video to break out before the holidays (like, um, right now), this version also has actual children involved, designed for maximum cuteness overload.
