Marriage proposal stories have been trending on social media over the past few weeks. But this creative tale is earning more happy tears than most.
Ava Garland retold her father’s story to her TikTok followers on Feb. 15. As she shared, her nervous dad popped the question 25 years ago by taking his now-wife to her favorite restaurant where their server presented her with a menu that had been reprinted for the special occasion.
Inside the menu was a “new” dish called “Soulmate Amore,” which included ” love and tenderness, tossed in the joys of parenthood, served on a warm bed.” The end of the description read, “Please say, yes, and marry me.”
The couple tied the knot and enjoyed the “joys” of parenthood by raising two girls, which, of course, included Ava, who was “crying” over the magical proposal idea.
The post earned 1 million views and hundreds of tearful comments that led to a follow-up post showcasing her parents‘ love over the decades.

In the video, Ava shared that her parents took her and her sister to the same restaurant where her dad popped the question. She also included pictures of her growing up with the happy couple.
“They look like the happiest couple ever,” someone swooned.
“oh to be loved like that,” another person added.
“Someone get me a tissue,” a commenter sobbed. “I’m a mess! This is beyond the most precious thing I have ever seen! And this was 25 years ago no less!!”
