Man Strikes Up Adorable Bromance With Neighbor’s Dog Who “Stalked” Him.

Coby loves neighbor Sherwin

Do you ever get a feeling that you’re being watched?

If you live in Alyssa West’s San Diego, California neighborhood, we’re pretty sure we know the culprit! Alyssa’s Golden retriever Coby loves to sit out on her balcony and watch the world go by. He greets every passerby, but there’s one neighbor he likes best.

“My dog Coby fell in love with my neighbor across the street,” Alyssa explained. “He’s a stalker. Coby is always there watching him. He’s out there watching every day. He loves watching everyone that’s out there go by, but there’s one person he’s particularly obsessed with.”

Sherwin Brown lives in an apartment across the street from Alyssa. His kitchen window looks directly across the alley to her balcony, so Coby can often be found sitting on the balcony and gazing into Sherwin’s home. One morning, Sherwin was eating breakfast with friends over FaceTime when he looked up and saw Coby staring right at him.

Alyssa shared a short video of their breakfast date on TikTok, and Sherwin saw it. They became internet buddies, and Sherwin decided to do something special to let Coby know the “bromance” was mutual. He went out and bought art supplies and created a sign for his window.

“Immediately I was reminded of my dog back home,” said Sherwin. “I was just so excited to see him everyday and interact with him.”

The neighbors didn’t stop there. The next step was creating a link between their apartments so that Sherwin could pass treats and toys to his new bestie. They spent some time creating a clothesline pully system, and next thing they knew Sherwin was sending whole rotisserie chickens across the alley, much to Coby’s delight.

After weeks of long distance interactions, Alyssa and Sherwin arranged an in-person meeting. Sherwin brought him a brand new toy, and the two instantly bonded.

“Seeing him enjoying his toy, it was awesome,” he said. “It was like we had known each other for years. I’d say Coby and I are best friends. He’s the sweetest dog.”

These two share the sweetest friendship! We love that it was Coby who decided to be friends, and Sherwin was totally game. Something tells us Coby makes friends everywhere he goes.

Don’t forget to share this wholesome friendship.
