Kind-hearted man stops traffic to help ducks crossing a busy road.

Ashley Fuentes became an insurance agent at 18 and a broker at 21. As a work-from-home independent broker, she happened to be out running errands when she came face-to-face with a real-life hero. Stopped in traffic, Ashley noticed someone’s “wonderful dad” walking on the road and blocking traffic to help a duck family that was crossing the road.

The unknown man got out of his car and went to the ducks sitting on the center median curb. Ashley recorded the whole thing through tears. The man ushered the baby ducklings off the curb, then walked into the traffic lanes holding up one arm. He kept a mindful eye on the ducks as they completed their crossing.

Ashley admits that she hadn’t seen the tiny animals until the man was at the center divider. Watching him place himself between the cars and the little duck family was heartwarming. Many of the people dropping comments were stating how much the man was like their father. There must be many good people left in the world.

Ducks show up in odd places. They aren’t afraid of humans and will seek them out to ask for help. When a mama duck lost her babies in a storm drain, she sought help from a human. Some ducks like school courtyards for nesting, but need an escort out when the ducklings are ready for swimming lessons. After feeding a mama duck, she brought her babies back to repay the kindness.

Being kind takes so little, but the rewards are worth it. When you are kind, it acts like a chain reaction as people pay kindness forward. Take action by holding a door or offering a smile to a stranger.
