It was 1949 when John “Jack” Etgen, was adopted in Danforth, Maine. He was just a baby when he and his new family moved to Detroit and then to Whittier, California. But it wasn’t until after high school his family revealed the truth about his adoption.
For the last 20 years Jack has said, “I’ve always had a notion to find my mom.” While waiting for that day, he grew up, married, had kids and now has 14 grandchildren.
But after sharing that desire with his daughter, she searched his birth mother’s named into Facebook, which soon led her to a Family Reunion page. From there, Jack discovered an amazing truth about the family he never knew he had.
