Lost Autistic Man Wanders NYC Train Station Until Officers Swoop In To Help.

Officer Azad Miah, Officer Rochester Joseph, and Sergeant Craig Siegelbaum on a Zoom call with Tyree and Kevin Watson.

Getting lost isn’t fun for anyone, but it was likely especially overwhelming for Tyree, an autistic man from Philadelphia. His family had no idea where he was when he made it all the way over to Grand Central Madison in New York City. With so many folks crowding the space and trains traveling to various locations, he wouldn’t be able to get home alone.

Once Tyree was located, his family originally planned to head to the station themselves. Before that could happen, however, Officer Azad Miah, Officer Rochester Joseph, and Sergeant Craig Siegelbaum swooped in with their own rescue plan.

After some discussion, they figured out a way to put Tyree on a train that would take him directly to Philadelphia where he could reunite with his family. This way, his family wouldn’t have to travel all that way.

“I’m grateful that they were even able to coordinate something like this because I’ve heard of countless times where it didn’t end like this,” Kevin Watson, Tyree’s uncle said in a Zoom call where they were able to thank the officers.

“I’ll say thank you to them for escorting me home,” Tyree added.
