Bonsai the bulldog has a genetic defect that left him with a deformed spine, hind legs and missing pelvis. An organization called Friends of Emma, who help dogs with birth defects, took up Bonsai’s case last June.
The vets at Friends of Emma decided that amputation was the best option to help Bonsai to have a happy life.
He was just three and a half weeks old when Friends of Emma took him in.
The surgery left him half the dog he was, but his personality has just gotten bigger.
He’s even made some new friends!
Time will tell, but it seems like Bonsai is well on the road to recovery!
