Girl with Cerebral Palsy lights up the moment she hears her new voice

Cerebral Palsy, the most common movement disorder among children, occurs 2 times in every 1,000 live births. It can affect everything from vision and hearing to swallowing and speaking.

A company named Vocal I.D., founded by Dr. Rupal Patel, was created to specifically address the vocal problems associated with Cerebral Palsy. Typical voice substitution software often doesn’t match the person that it is supposed to be advocating for, so Dr. Patel set out to bring some personality and dignity to her patients.

In this touching video from Buzzfeed,  we find a young girl named Maeve who is eager to get a voice of her own But the most compelling part of the story is that the voice Maeve receives comes from her older sister, Erin!

After waiting for 10 months from the time of her initial meeting with Dr. Patel and the Vocal I.D. team, it is finally time for Maeve to hear the voice they created just for her!

Watch Maeve and Erin’s powerful story where sisterhood and technology meet in the most beautiful way!
